Literature Text

You nervously tugged at the top of your white dress that fell to the floor and trialed behind you. Today was the big day, the day you would marry the love of your life, Atem, and would become the Queen of this kingdom. You felt more nervous then back in the days you were forced to steal bread to survive.

You heard someone giggle behind you. "Stop fusing so much (Name), you look amazing." You turned to face the two girls that were helping you get ready. Mana, Atem's childhood friend, was the one who had giggled at your nervousness. Standing next to her was one of Atem's Priestesses, Isis.

Isis stepped forward, holding a beautiful headdress for you to wear. "Mana is correct, you look beautiful (Name)." She gently placed the headdress on your hair and made sure it was in place. "There that looks perfect."

You smiled at the two. "Thank you both for your help."

"Of course!" Mana exclaimed, beaming at you. "Atem will be speechless when he sees you."

"You really think so?" You touched the jade necklace that rested in the hollow of your throat. It was in the shape of a heart and was a present from Atem in anticipation of your wedding. "I still feel so out of place in clothes like this."

"You will grow used to it." Isis smiled gently. "I'm sure Atem is going to spoil you after today."

"I don't know if I can handle that..." You answered.

Mana took your arm lightly. "It's almost time. We should get you out there."

You took a deep breath to keep back the light headedness you were feeling. "Already?"

Isis touched your back lightly. "There is no need to be nervous. Atem loves you and our kingdom will love you as well."

You looked back at her, feeling the headdress's tassels tap your cheek softly. "You really think so?"

"I know so, you will make a perfect Queen and wife to our Pharaoh." Isis glanced out the window to see the position of the sun. "Now Mana is correct. Let us head out to see your future husband."

You smiled. "I'm ready." The two girls lead you out of your dressing room and down the hallway towards the main room. As you nearly the large ballroom, you could hear hundreds of voice inside and felt your nerves kick up again. What if you tripped? What if you did something to disgrace Atem? What if you did something to make people not accept you as a Queen?

Mana moved to open the doors. "Stop worrying, just focus on Atem and everything will be okay." She pushed open the doors before you could answer.

The ballroom had been completely transformed. Lines of chairs had been brought in to hold all the guests on each side of the center aisle. Lotus flowers sat in vases around the room and an altar had been placed at the far end of the main room. High Priest Seth stood at the altar, looking as annoyed as ever, but seemed to have accepted this. Once you saw the other person standing at the altar, everything else faded away. Standing in front of the altar was Atem. He was wearing a long white skirt and was bare chested, his tan muscular skin revealed to your eyes, wearing his pyramid necklace and his Pharaoh headdress. He smiled and his eyes light up when he saw you at the doorway. Mana had been right, the second you saw Atem nothing else mattered. Isis and Mana guided you down the aisle, your eyes never leaving him. Once you reached the altar the girls stepped to the left and you took your place next to him.

He took your hand gently. "You look beautiful my love."

You felt your cheeks warm up. "Thank you. You look very handsome Atem."

Seth cleared his throat. "If I may."

"Oh yes, go ahead Seth." Atem answered as he looked at his High Priest.

Seth eyebrow twitched slightly before he started the ceremony. He recited the ancient vows that all King's took while marrying their Queen. It passed by quickly and you found yourself lost in Atem's eyes, which were lit up brighter then you had ever seen before. Seth said the ending rite of passage before turning to the watching crowd. "I present you with your King and Queen!" The crowd cheers and get up from their seats.

Atem smiled at you. "My Queen." He pulled you close and kissed you. You blushed and kissed him back. The crowd cheered louder, but it was all muffled. The only thing you could focus on was Atem and his lips against yours. He slowly pulled back from the kiss and faced the crowd. "Thank you everyone for coming to this important day for our kingdom! And now..." Atem knelt slightly and swept you up into his arms. You yelped and wrapped your arms around his neck. "...I have a lot of new things to show my Queen." You blushed as Atem's voice dropped to a deeper tone then normal. He carried you down the aisle.

Some in the crowd chuckled at their Kings behavior and you heard someone yell out, "We hope we get a little prince soon your highness!" You blushed more and hid your face in Atem's chest.

Atem carried you out of the ballroom. "You know that's not a bad idea."

You peaked up at him. "What is?"

"Us having a child."

"You'd want to? With me? But I don't have royal blood."

"You thought I'd marry you and that's it?" Atem kisses your forehead. "You silly fool. It doesn't matter to me if you have royal blood or not. I want to spend the rest of my life with you and raise a family with you." He pushed open his bedroom door with his foot. "I love you (Name), for who you are, not because of your bloodline."

"I love you too Atem."

"I would hope so after all this." He purred, setting you down on his large bed. The sheets were white silk and were soft against your skin. "Here let me take this off for you." He gently removed the headdress from your head and set it on a low table on the side of the room, before putting his own headdress next to it. "There we go."

"Thank you."

He chuckled. "You're welcome. I know well how those can become cumbersome to wear for an extended period of time." He touched your cheek gently, letting his thumb stroke the soft skin. "You did look beautiful in it though. A perfect Queen."

You blushed. "Do you think I will be a good Queen?"

"I know you will." He leaned in and kissed you softly. "You will be one of the best Queens in history. I know that with you, we can make this kingdom a stronger and more thriving place."

"I'll do anything I can to help."

"Anything?"

You nodded. "Yes, I will do anything to help you Atem."

"Then I believe we should start with our citizen's first request."

"What request?"

He grinned and put his hands on your hips. "For us to have a little prince of course." He pressed his lips against yours; leaning you back until your back hit the bed. You gasped softly feeling his hand untie the top of your dress.

Your wedding night flashed though your mind in a blur. Gasping out Atem's name, feeling his hands explore your flesh, the intense heat and your release in the end and lastly, Atem's promise that this was just the first night of many. You're perfect life with your King, the love of your life.

A lot of people requested an epilogue to this story. I'm really happy with it and I hope all my readers are too!

Part 1:  AtemxReader: Thief to Princess
It was another grizzly day in the Kingdom of Egypt. The citizens kept their heads covered and tried not to pass out from the burning heat that threatened to take a few lives. Even with the heat though, the city was bustling with life as people went about their days. The heat wouldn’t stop them from doing what they needed to, to survive. No matter what that was.
“Hey! Stop! Thief!” The shopkeeper yelled as the figure in a black cloak pulled over their head hiding their face, as they darted down the street away from the man’s stand.
You ran down the street dodging the other people on the street. Tucked under your arm was a loaf of bread that you had snatched off the man’s stand. It’s not like you enjoyed stealing, but you had to do something or you would die. Your parents had died when you were a child. They were simple merchants so there was no money after they died so you were tossed out into the street. You had tried to work, but no one wanted to hi

Part 2: AtemxReader: Thief to Princess Part 2
"I can't do this." You cursed, throwing the quill onto the table in front of you. The ink splattered on the piece of parchment, which had several scribbles on it.
"Even a child can learn to write their own name." The scribe commented, a look of pure boredom in his eyes. Ever since Atem had announced that he was going to court you, the scribes, priestess and every other noble had been treating you coldly when you weren't in the presence of Atem.
"They have been learning to read and write for years, I'm just starting." You mumbled under your breath. You had never learned to read; there was no one to teach you. When Atem found out, he offered to have his scribes teach you to read, as well as know basic math and history. You took to math quickly; counting and adding money came to you easily. In history you were doing well; it was interesting to hear about the past. However, reading and writing were giving you a much harder time.
"So you're saying you are dumber than a child?" The scribe sm

Minus a grammatical error here or there, the piece was well written. Although the story seemed a little rushed, I still enjoyed it immensely. The characters were fairly true to their various quirks and traits. The imagery described made me feel as if I was actually there. Some of the bantering between the reader, Isis, and Mana amused me. Atem's forwardness towards making a little prince had me blushing and laughing at the same time. Overall, the story provided a conclusion to a great trilogy that I among others had enjoyed. I look forward to more works such as this in the future.
