"No." Kyoya said as he pushed up his glasses, looking over the sheet of paper in front of him. "It would be a waste of club funds."

You crossed your arms over your chest. "Golden Week only comes once a year Kyoya and everyone's been working hard. What could it hurt to take a trip to the beach for a few days?"

"We could use that time to hold special event with the hosts and make more money."

"I didn't want to use this, but you left me no choice." You turned towards one of the other tables where a certain blonde haired young man was sitting. "Tamaki! You want us to all go the beach right?! Haruhi and I will be able to wear our new swimsuits!"

You saw him glances over at the brown haired girl in her boys' uniform before his cheeks turned a faint red. "Of course!" He jumped from his chair. "What a brilliant idea my dear (Name)! A trip to the beach! A chance to relax and get closer to each other! I'll go pack my bag! Kyoya plan our stay for us!" He then took off out of the room with a large smile on his face.

You glanced over at Kyoya, unable to hide your grin. "Seems we're going to the beach."

There was a twitch at the corner of Kyoya's eye as he pushed up his glasses again. "It would seem so."

"Send me a text when you have the time set when we're going." You said your goodbyes to the rest of the club members before heading out.

It had been a few months since you joined the host club as their cook. With the club booming, it was tough for the hosts to make tea and the other treats they served to their guests. That's where you came in. You were in Haruhi's home economics class so when the club needed a chief, she suggested you. You enjoyed your work and had made friends with all the members, well most of them. Kyoya was always a bit standoffish, but you knew that was just the way he was; it wasn't anything personal. You did wish that you could find a way to get closer to him though, you'd admit you found yourself drawn to him. For now though, you had a beach trip to plan for.

At the beginning of Golden Week, you and the rest of the host club made your way to the Ootori summer house. The place was massive with a beautiful private beach right outside. That's where you all were now. The twins were in the water trying to coax Haruhi to join them by splashing water in her direction while Tamaki was yelping as he got hit with the water instead of her. Mori and Hunny were sitting a little ways off from the water on a towel, the latter munching on some sweets you had made while Mori relaxed next to him.

There was one member of the club missing though. You found Kyoya sitting in the living room of the beach house working on his computer. He was dressed in a loose white shirt and black pants. You don't think he even bothered to bring a swimsuit here with him.

You walked over and sat on the couch next to where the quiet man was working. You had a white button up shirt and black shorts over your own bikini. "Are you just going to sit inside all day? It's beautiful out there." You gestured out the large bay windows where the rest of the host club could be faintly seen.

"Coming to the beach was your idea. I was perfectly happy staying in town and working. If I have to be here then I'm going to do my work."

"Do you ever just do something because it's fun?"

"I don't have time for fun. Nor would I hear the end of it if I slacked off."

"Because your father is so strict?" He blinked and glanced over at you. "Tamaki told me about him and your brothers."

Kyoya glanced outside with a scold. "He really needs to learn to keep his mouth shut."

"He's just worried about you." You glanced down at your lap. "He's not the only one."

"I'm fine"

You glanced at his computer. "Everyone's out having fun and your planning next months club schedule. That can wait a day. At least take today off and enjoy yourself."

"I'll fall behind."

"If you take the rest of the day off, then I'll spend all of tomorrow helping you."

He raised his eyebrows at you. "After bugging me to let the club take this trip, you'll give up a day at the beach to work?"

"I want you to take sometime off." You stood up and held out your hand to him. "Just one day of fun.. Then I swear I'll help you make up for lost time tomorrow."

"And you'll keep bothering me until I agree..."

You grinned as you knew you had won. "Maybe~"

He sighed. "Fine." He stood up without taking your hand. "One day and you'll be helping me with my work until I'm caught up."

"As long as you have some fun today I'll do what I have to. I'll even throw in hiding it from the rest of the club," you giggled, "I'm sure Tamaki would never let you live it down."

"Even better." He tilted his head to the left. "Since we can't go out to the beach then, there's an indoor pool and den further in."

"Your family has a pool when you're right on the beach?"

"My mom doesn't like swimming in salt so my father put it in for her. It's the last door on the left. I'm going to go change into the spare trunks I leave here."

"Alright, I'll meet you there." You went down the hall and into the room he indicated. Inside was a beautiful Olympic size swimming pool with a large window that looked out into the backyard, which was full of trees and had no view of any houses near by. You slipped your shirt and shorts off and left then on one of the near by pool chairs before you made your way to the deep end and dived in. You did a lap in the pool before you heard the door to the room open. You paused and looked towards the door.

"You seem to be enjoying it." Kyoya commented from the doorway, only wearing a pair of simple black swim trunks, two puffy white towels tossed over his shoulder.

You couldn't stop your eyes when they roamed down his bare chest nor could you stop your cheeks when they grew warm. You quickly looked down at the water so he wouldn't see. "It's a beautiful pool."

"At least it's quieter in here then outside." He placed the two towels on another chair before taking the steps into the pool. He swam over to you. "Now what?"

"How about a race? Three laps. We'll even make a bet on it."

A spark lit in Kyoya's eyes. "A bet?"

"Figured you'd like that. The loser will owe the winner one favor. How's that?"

A small grin came to his lips. "Anything?"

"With in reason." You grinned back at him. "And don't go acting like you've already won. I'm a pretty good swimmer."

"We'll see." He moved to the edge of the pool. "You have a deal."

You moved to the edge next to him. "Good." You both got into a ready position so you could kick off the wall. "On your mark...get set...go!" You both kicked off the wall and the race began. You focused on your own swimming so you did't know where Kyoya was or who was in the lead. You swam the last lap heading for the wall and a moment before you reached it you heard a thud sound. You slapped your hand on the edge and popped your head out of the water taking a deep breath.

"That was close." You glanced over at Kyoya, who had a grin on his face. He pushed his usually pristine hair back out of his eyes, the water had plastered it to his head. "However, it seems I won this time."

You sighed and leaned back on the wall. "You won, but just barely."

"Winning is winning. And I won our bet."

"What do you want?"

He pulled himself up out of the pool. "I could make you spend the rest of our trip helping me with work."

You gasped and whipped around to face him. "Anything but that!"

He sighed. "As you wish." He held your chin lightly and tilted it up. "Then I'll take this as my reward." He swiftly pressed his lips against your own. Your eyes widened and your cheeks burned, but before you could think to react he pulled back. "That will do." He stood up and walked to the towel, picking it up. "Dry off and we'll go outside. Tamaki bothered me to get a watermelon to break. We might as well do it now." He walked towards the door rubbing his wet hair. When he didn't hear you get out of the water he looked over his shoulder at you. "Aren't you coming?"

You snapped out of it. "R-right!" You hopped out of the water and grabbed the towel and your clothing.

"Work well tomorrow and maybe you'll get another." He walked out of the room. You blushed more as you stared at his retreating back. "Hurry up or they'll eat all of the watermelon."

"C-coming!" You ran after him. It seemed Kyoya could have fun. You were hoping that you'd see a lot more of this side of him in the future.

*takes fiction because this is mine now*

I haven't read too many Reader x Kyoya in my time, but I enjoyed this one very much. Your vision was clearly thought through (no plot holes visible), Kyoya wasn't OOC (extra points), and the fluff forced me to take a breather because I was fangirling a little too much. Minor grammar/punctuation mistakes, but don't worry about them. It was a great fast but not too short read that I will definitely be adding to my favourites folder. (Right before I come and stalk more of your stories because if they are anything like this one, they are worth the time!)

Loved it and keep up the amazing work!!
